The miraculous image depicts the Infant Christ holding a scroll of Scripture and offering a blessing with his right hand. The reverse side of the piece depicts Ascension Day, one of the 12 Great Feasts, which is celebrated on the 40th day after Easter in honour of the ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven and the promise of his second coming.
