"2020 has been a particularly difficult year and during the lockdown, I had dived deep into very dark thoughts. Consumed by stress, fear, and a lack of hope, I found myself wanting to sleep and never wake up.But thankfully, I am surrounded by people who have invested so much love in me. I had my art to turn to and a will to work through really challenging thoughts. 'Pull Me out of Dark Waters' is a direct reflection of that struggle. it's deceptively serene with the only hint of darkness hiding in the lack of warmth in the skin tones. The main figure is mostly cold and lifeless but a pair of warm hands slowly pull her past the surface and return some of that warmth to her face. This piece, as painful as it was to put together, brings me a lot of hope
