Playing Cube 4 inches!
Each dice is approximately 4 inches cubed. It has a write on/wipe off surface for each of its 6 sides. Use dry erase markers (not included). Science of Reading Sound/Spelling Correspondence: The teacher can decide on the grapheme (spelling) to write on each of the six sides for review activities or new learning. Emerging Spellers: write s, t, m, p, n, l or whichever symbol-sound connection the child is learning and brainstorm words that start with the sound representation. Intermediate Spellers: use 2 blue cubes with consonants and 1 red cube with vowels to build consonant-vowel-consonant words. Student blends sounds together to determine if it’s a real word. Advanced Spellers: 1) write SIX of the various spellings of long a (a, a_e, ai, ay, ea, eight, ey, ei) 2) when the dice lands players generate as many words with that spelling as they can. 3) organize the spellings in a column chart with the headers matching the spellings on the dice and the generated words below the headers.
