Grapheme Drill Cards

DRILL OPTION: Teacher holds the card, students say the sound(s) that the grapheme spells. Teachers may want to post a note on the back of cards with graphemes representing multiple sounds “ow”, “ea” etc to remind teacher of all the various sounds represented by the same spelling. GAME OPTION:  Using two decks, choose the graphemes to review. Make a matching game by including two of the same cards for 8 - 10 grapheme. Set them face down and play a matching game instructing student to say the sound(s) that the grapheme represents each time they turn a card over to try for a match. BLENDING PRACTICE: These are very large and can be used for blending drills as well.  Place cards in three piles on the table or in the whiteboard tray vertically.
