Take Flight Earrings

I've had this folky-swallow design in my mind for a long time, but it's taken a while for a it to take shape. I normally don't feel like I am able to capture animals very well in my work so I've put off trying, but when I finally sat down to draw, the first one I sketched felt just right! I reclaimed silver scrap metal to make these birds. So that means I melted down a bunch of small silver bits into one big chunk and then rolled it out into a sheet of metal that I then sawed out these swallows. It's a labor intensive process, but it's also really rewarding!  Stones: Dendritic Agate  Metals: Reclaimed Sterling Silver  Please note: Each piece is handcrafted with my own two hands. This means each piece is unique and each carries their own “imperfections”. That being said, each piece is crafted with care and intention with excellent crafts(wo)manship.
