Be advised if you have a very snug fit with your stove pipe and stove jack it is more likely that the bottom stove pipe will pull loose from the stove during windy conditions. Tent roofs billow in the winds and will sometimes cause the stove pipe to move up and down. Especially, with a tight fit. There is a trade off between a tight stove jack and a looser stove jack. The tight stove jack reduces the amount of rain that comes in the stove jack hole. The looser stove jack allows more rain to drip in from the larger space between pipe and hole. Personally, I prefer a stove jack about 1/2 inch larger. Unfortunately, I had the unpleasant experience of a tight fit causing the pipe to detach from my stove in the middle of the night during a very high wind surge.
