Grace
I took this picture of a Ring-billed gull on a bright early morning at a lake near my home in Minnesota. It was fairly windy that day but this bird seemed to have no problem gracefully negotiating the gusts as he peered down into the water looking for a meal. But what I really saw was an animal living out it’s existence with no ego, no agenda other than that of being one of God’s creatures and wearing God’s love. It reminded me of the following passage: “dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love" (Colossians 3:12-14).
