Window Into the Soul
On a cold January day as evening approached I was returning home from a walk looking for something to photograph when I spotted this coyote weaving his way through the heavy brush of the wetlands next to my backyard. His movements were calculated, stealthy and purposeful. We were about 25 yards apart when we spotted each other and I took this picture. The encounter was short lived and he went his way and I went mine. It has been said that an animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language and that the eyes are the window to the soul. The soul is the spiritual and eternal part of us, separate from the body. It consists of consciousness and personality and can be synonymous with the spirit, mind and self. Emotions are stored in the soul's matrix. Unlike words, pictures and actions, feelings appear in the eyes. The eyes speak what the soul feels. The moment our eyes made contact there was no fear or trepidation. Just a feeling of an intimate connection to God as we both played out
