While protecting her country and fighting in a war, St. Joan of Arc was captured and tried for heresy multiple times. After many trials, she was condemned to death, and was executed in 1431.  At one point during her travels through France it is recorded that Joan said: "I do not fear the soldiers, for my road is made open to me; and if the soldiers come, I have God, my Lord, who will know how to clear the route that leads to messire the Dauphin. It was for this that I was born!" The popular and motivation statement on our pin, is derived from this quote.
