Autumn brings reddish bronze blades with tones of lavender. Purplish flowers give way to seed heads that emerge in late summer atop strong stalks, and the golden seeds add a great color contrast. An excellent addition to restoration or naturalized gardens, Big Bluestem will attract birds who may use it for nesting materials or feast on the seeds. Cut back to the ground in late winter.
