Thanks to the hard work of Trust Banking Section members who helped write the first significant overhaul of the trust code since 1972, Wisconsin is now a more attractive state in which to conduct trust business. But trust code reform was not the banking industry’s only success in the 2013-2014 state legislative session. WBA also got laws passed that create bank service corporations and prevent local governments from enacting burdensome foreclosure-related ordinances. WBA remains the leading financial institutions trade association in every metric that matters: bills passed, hours lobbied and political action funds raised.
