This vanilla orchid has deeply-variegated leaves. It is the most widely-grown source for vanilla beans. It grows as a large vine and is much easier to grow than most orchids. You can have it climb a tree or twine it around a hanging basket. Since this vanilla bean orchid is tropical, it only does well in non-freezing areas, but it also makes an excellent houseplant.• Average mature height: Up to 40-foot vine• Light: Full shade• Soil: Well-drained.
