Tool Bag Weekender Made from an Old Sail

The most notable race the boat won was the "Chicago - Mackinac Cup" in 1989. The owners gave me the sail in hopes that it could go to good use and stay out of the landfill as they upgraded to more high-tech sails. Since this bag is made from recycled materials, there will likely be errant threads that will need to be snipped off occasionally. This is purely cosmetic--I made the bag from a reinforced section of the sail that is made up of many layers of stacked sailcloth. The material is extremely durable and lightweight. The Weekender was inspired by the old tool bag I found in the back corner of my parents' shed. It is the perfect size for a weekend trip. It accommodates an extra pair of shoes plus a few days of clothes and still fits in the overhead bins on the small regional airplanes. Just wait until you walk out the
