Art History Lecture: Contemporary Black Female Artists You Should Know

At Wheelhouse our goal is to make art accessible and fun. Part of growing as an artist is learning about other artists and movements. In 2025, we are starting a monthly art history lecture, focusing on artists you should know and art events and movements that resonate today. The monthly Art History Lecture will feature a short presentation, discussion period and an assortment of drinks and refreshments. For February, as a celebration of black history month, we will be exploring the artwork of some of our favorite contemporary black female artists. Be prepared to be inspired!
