Holy Basil, Krishna

Botanical name: Ocimum tenuiflorum ^Organic   Krishna Holy Basil, also known as Ocimum tenuiflorum, is a tropical herbaceous plant from the mint family with purple stems and leaves that turn into a vibrant magenta color as they mature. This variant of the commonly known sweet basil is named after the Hindu god Krishna, who is often depicted with blue skin.
