Swamp Chestnut Oaks Swamp Chestnut Oaks produce massive acorns that deer cant get enough of, with low tannin content these large acorns have a great taste and provide great nutrition. Swamp Chestnut Oaks are very attractive to deer but unlike their name suggests they do not like very wet areas. Moist to well drained is preferred. For wet areas check out Nutall oaks as they are much better suited than Swamp Chestnut Oaks. Swamp chestnuts are very fast growing and provide a great fall food source.
