Sesame-White Seed
Sesame- White Seed Sesamum indicum stunning 3+ foot flower stalks are lined with delicate foxglove-like blossoms that glow rose-pink and are surprisingly easy to produce. White, Black, and Tan Sesame are drought tolerant and will do fine in poor soil conditions. Depending on when you plant, Sesame will bloom from early Summer to frost. Sesame seed heads are fascinating and completely breathtaking. They are easy to harvest and clean with fans, colanders and screens. I just dry out the pods on large cookie sheets, which removes about 1/3 of the seeds. When completely dry, I put the pods in a ziplock bag, and shake it when I want seeds. The seeds settle in the bottom of the bag.
