Oliva’s history dates back to pre-Cuban War of Independence when Melanio Oliva started growing his own tobacco in 1886. The company is still family owned and operated and in the 1960’s moved to the beautiful country of Nicaragua. Since then, they have had several lines and highly rated cigars; with the Serie V Melanio receiving a 96 point rating and being named #1 Cigar of 2014 by Cigar Aficionado.Listed in the Top 25 Cigars of 2013 by Cigar Aficionado, the Oliva Serie O is a unique Nicaraguan beauty. The same Cuban-seed leaves are planted in the three major growing areas of Nicaragua: Esteli, Condega and Jalapa. This process produces flavors of earth, salt, cocoa and cedar that are like no other.
