She Really Moves This Way Connie Shiau is an Artistic Associate at Gibney Dance and she has been working to create a piece with the young dancers who make up Dancewave's DC1, a pre-professional company. Here, she is demonstrating a particularly challenging movement that will be completed by the dancers. This Drawing is Part of My Dancewave Series I attended rehearsal with Dancewave's DC1 Pre-Professional Company for six weeks and made a series of drawings and paintings of the process. What sets Dancewave's Pre-Professional Company apart is that it is an opportunity for high-school students to work with choreographers from the world's most renowned modern dance companies.  All Sales Proceeds Go To Dancewave This collaboration has been an exciting artistic opportunity for me, allowing me to capture the growth of the work and the way in which these young and tremendously talented students grow as dancers and in the piece.
