Menthol Crystals (USP)

Wild Herb USP Menthol Crystals are derived from the steam distillation of Mentha arvensis and Mentha piperita (wild mint plants). After distillation, the essential oil is chilled at freezing temperatures, producing crystals of exceptional purity. Our menthol contains 99.5% L-menthol, one of the highest grades available. Clear and strongly aromatic with a peppermint-like scent, menthol crystals are widely used for their cooling, refreshing properties. They dissolve easily in alcohol, essential oils, and carrier oils, but are almost insoluble in water or glycerin. Melting point is approximately 105–107 °F. Always stir thoroughly to ensure complete dissolution and reduce the risk of skin irritation. Menthol is popular in formulations such as ointments, liniments, balms, and soaps, both for its cooling effect and its historical use as an analgesic.
