The Fishery From Battle Hill lodge guests will fish a rotation of 3 rivers. All three rivers we fish in have two things in common, they are all connected to the mighty glacial river Skaftá and hold giant sea run brown trout. The Vatnamót River. Vatnamót means “River Junction” in Icelandic. This place is often called the junction of junctions in Iceland. This is where the Fossaálar, Geirlandsá, and Hörgsá rivers meet the Mighty Skaftá. Part of the Fossalar river is on Unesco’s natural heritage list, so you can imagine the beauty of the landscape in this area. The Geirlandsa River. Believed to be the main spawning tributary of the Skaftá river, Often called the most beautiful seatrout river in Iceland.
