Árbót Private Beat Árbót beat on the Big Laxá is an extraordinary beat with great character and offers an excellent option for those looking for bigger brown trout and salmon. It is 3,7 km (2.2 miles) long and limited to two to four rods depending on the time of year. It has many beautiful pools that sport both trout and salmon. The season runs from April 1st to September 20th. Trout fishing on Árbót is consistent the whole season but the salmon usually show up at end of June or the start of July. From April 1st until June 20th 4 rods are allowed on the beat, after June 20th only 2 rods are allowed.
