Food Grade This food grade Diatomaceous Earth is a great source of silica. This silica comes the fossilized remains of diatoms, one type of unicellular phytoplankton that is surrounded by a silica-rich cell wall, which are found in a natural sedimentary rock formed 30 million years ago. The chalky remains are powdered to form Diatomaceous Earth. It has many uses such as in a facial exfoliant, or as a household cleaner and deodorizer, or as a natural pesticide, such as with chickens to keep mites away. Food Grade Diatomaceous earth can be taken internally to help fight viral or fungal infections: 1 tsp. to 1 Tbsp. mixed into a cup of water, taken for 7 days. Sold by the ounce
