Coal Oil Point ☽•☾ botanical fragrancea l c h e m y ☽•☾ I started Wild Veil in 2013 as a side project while I was writing a dissertation in Film and Media Studies. However, it quickly became clear that envisioning organic fragrances was my passion, and I eventually abandoned the PhD to make natural perfumery my life's work. I probably should have seen this coming as I chose my graduate program based on the way its location smelled: the sea, star jasmine flowers, orange and lemon blossoms, tar, lavender, and coastal sage scrub of Santa Barbara. Coal Oil Point is inspired by the location of the same name. A wild promontory in Isla Vista, the unincorporated part of Santa Barbara, where tar bubbles up through the sand below and snowy plover weightlessly scatter across the wet mirror of flat beach. Vegan. For any gender. Color may vary. Photo: spider flower unfurling. Suggested fixatives: Amber, Animalic, Botanical Musk, Conifer, Dry, Earthy, Ferns, Henna, Meadow, Monsoon, Mossy, Oceanic, P
