Washable Wool Duvet In order to create a wool duvet that can be both thinner and washable, the wool batting used is a fine merino wool that is thermally bonded which is a process that interlocks the fibers using heat energy. The manufacturer uses 25% of a special fine denier low melt polyester for the thermal bonding. Wool is a barbed fiber, and when agitated the fibers tend to cling to each other and matt up. Thermal bonding is an environment favorable technology and is absent of any chemical resin binders.
