Garlic Graters and Spoon Rests February 23rd
hopemundead@gmail.com Garlic Graters and Spoon Rests February 23rd and March 2nd 5:30-8:30 Come learn how to throw kitchen basics on the wheel. This class is great for beginners and those who are looking for a few extra tips and tricks. We’ll cover throwing skills, trimming on wet clay, and adding finishing details like lips, small spouts, spirals, and grater patches. This project requires no additional trimming so when you come back, they will be bisque fired and ready for glazing! (Which we will demo at the end of class) Class plan: In class we will cover the basics of wheel throwing including centering, pulling walls, and compressing bases. Then we’ll learn how to trim clay skirts and finish wet work so that it doesn’t need trimming later. Then we’ll pull a small lip for a spout if they would like and draw on our guide rings for later. Garlic grater will sit out for a moment while we throw our spoon rests. We’ll repeat almost all of the same steps until the end.
