Franken, Germany— 50% Bacchus, 50% Müller-Thurgau, all farmed organically, that sees three days on the skins. Light and crispy, aromatic, highly drinkable with minimal tannin— peach, apricot, green tea, dried tangerine peel, mountain flowers with a hint of pine. Perfect aperitivo or would love this with light veggies, fish or Chinese food! Helmet Christ is a pioneer in Germany's organic winemaking community. He and his wife Agelika have farmed organically since 1974. Seeing the negative repercussions of conventional farming, Helmut chose to implement Biodynamics not only in the vineyard, but also in the winery. The 9.5-hectare property has been Demeter certified since 2006. Helmut's son Michael now heads the winery with a commitment to typical profiles of the region, but is approaching stylistically experimental cuvees as well.
