STORM KING
The down jacket was invented in Seattle, and less than 80 years later, we have largely lost the ability to make them in the US. However one titan still remains in the Pacific Northwest, or as I call it, the Fertile Crescent of down jackets. @crescentdownworks was started by Anne Michelson, who originally developed Eddie Bauer’s down testing laboratory in the late 1960s, and is still family owned and operated with Anne’s daughter Annie at the helm. It’s a dream come true to work with them. There is one of the world’s most enchanted lakes in Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent. If you want to take the ‘postcard’ photo of the lake, you have to summit the nearby Mountain, Storm King. The Storm King is a full winter parka in Crescent Lake blue, and a toasted almond interior, or Expedition Red- Inside and out. The hood is removable, to reveal a western collar full of down. Shell: Water Resistant (DWR) 60/40 Cotton/Nylon Lining: Super Soft 100% Nylon - Without Intentionally Added PFAS 11
