The WindyNation DC1230 is an intelligent DC-DC charge controller capable of charging the house battery from both a starter battery that is connected to the vehicle alternator and by solar panels connected directly to the controller.  When used in vehicles with dual batteries (house/service battery or battery bank and your vehicles engine starting battery), the house/service battery is charged by the solar input by default and once the vehicle’s auxiliary/starter battery is active and fully charged by the vehicle’s alternator, the additional charge from the alternator will be sent to the service/house battery automatically.
