Pinot Noir has been grown in Austria for close to two hundred years and is the most successful red grape import from France. Great Austrian Pinot Noir only began to emerge in the last decade with growers like Gernot Heinrich planting the temperamental varietal in top sites. Formerly labelled as "Dorflagen," this is a young vine Pinot Noir from the gravelly Goldberg vineyard and the loamy Salzberg vineyard, both in close proximity to the Heinrich winery in Gols.
