Mercurey, in the southern part of Burgundy, the Côtes Chalonnaise, produces wonderful value Pinot Noirs. The nose is bursting with red and black fruits, and there is also some complexity from the oak. Ripe and lush on the palate with a gentle tannic structure and smooth finish.
