Riesling [Trocken] 'Socalcos', Fio 2020

Fresh, sustainably mineral and finely creamy with notes of apple, quince and grapefruit: This is the Riesling Socalcos. Supported by seven sheep that act as lawnmowers and fertilizer suppliers, the winemakers at Leiwener Josefsberg produce a Riesling that is aged for nine months, partly in wooden barrels and partly in stainless steel. Full of character on the nose with slightly spicy aromas such as white pepper and hints of pistachio, nutmeg, woodruff, orange and lemon. Complex, expressive and playful on the palate, mineral, juicy fruit (apricot, lime, pear, light citrus aromas), fine sweetness, silky structure. Long lasting and delicate in the multifaceted finish, fascinating soloist.
