Like Family’s California Chili Oil is a Good Food Award-Winner in 2024. The family-owned company starts with young, fruit-forward arbequina and peppery frantoio olives harvested in California and press them with fresh organic jalapeños, Fresno and Anaheim chilies. This “co-milling” creates a beautifully fruity, bright heat: The spice of the fresh peppers is just right, not overpowering, which plays perfectly off of the rich, earthy olives. And the finished product has the telltale velvety mouthful of a great Californian extra virgin olive oil.
