Bodega Riojanas Monte Real Rioja Gran Reserva 1998

Bodegas Riojanas, first established in 1890 by the Artacho Family, is one of Rioja's most historic names and a benchmark for what a traditional Gran Reserva. With close to 150 years of heritage, the estate has long been lauded for its classic style. Opting to base their winery close to where they grow their Tempranillo vines in Cenicero, quality and terroir are, and have alwyas been a priority. The 1998 Monte Gran Reserva has spent an extended time in well seasoned American Oak before being bottled. Notes of dried cherries, leather, baking spices, all framed by gentle silky tannins thanks to an extrended bottle aging. This bottle years for game, such as Roast lamb, Venison, or even some 5J Iberico Ham.
