A Welsh wassailing custom recorded back to the 1800s, the Mari Lwyd was a tradition performed around Christmas time. Made of a hobby horse, draped in white cloth, garnished with ribbons or garlands and of course mounting a horse skull on top. Groups of folk would parade around with the Mari Lwyd going from door to door requesting entry in song. The homeowner was expected to deny entry in song, and the banter would ensure back and forth until the Mari Lywd was finally admitted entry and it's constituents provided with food and drink. An outdoor, wintery scent, the Mari Lwyd evokes a winter’s night chill. Top notes of eucalyptus and lavender give way to resinous pine that rests on an herbal, woody base of rosemary, cedar, and oakmoss. Scent Notes: Eucalyptus | Lavender | Pine | Resin | Wood | Rosemary | Cedar | Oakmoss
