Coconut coir is a 100% natural by-product of coconut harvesting using sustainable methods and renewable resource. It has spongy characteristics, possessing excellent air space and drainage with a water holding capacity of > 70%. It is an alternative to peat moss, rockwool, perlite and vermiculite and is used in the same gardening capacity.  Coir is the coarse fibers from the husk on the outer shell of a coconut.
