Lavender Menace Crop Sweatshirt
In 1970, the president of the National Organisation for Women described lesbians as a "lavender menace" which threatened the feminist movement by potentially enabling them to be labelled as just "man hating lesbians". So women in the Gay Liberation Front crashed their congress, wearing t-shirts they printed emblazoned with "lavender menace", and demanded to be heard. Members agreed and within a year NOW members voted to respect lesbian rights. We have also produced this extra soft fleece crop sweatshirt with faded vintage style print, using their original design. • 52% airlume combed and ring-spun cotton, 48% poly fleece • Cropped body with a raw hem • Ribbed crew neckline and cuffs • Dropped shoulder • Side-seamed Proceeds support the work of WCH, and veterans of this action.
