Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.” ― Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind In 2007, Patrick Rothfuss’ debut novel ‘The Name of the Wind’ was published, and he quickly gained a following enthralled with the tale of Kvothe and his journeys in the world of Temerant. In 2008, surprised and inspired by the size of his fan base, he announced a contest to benefit his mother’s favorite charity Heifer International that included books from his personal collection and a promise to match donations dollar for dollar. Overwhelmed by the response and encouraged by the possibilities to do more good in the world, he enlisted some friends and started Worldbuilders.  Over a decade later, we are extremely grateful to everyone that has contributed to our journey both here and through our many fundraisers that have allowed us to raise more than $10 million dollars fo
