Edge Grain Cutting Boards

Edge grain runs the length of the board in edge grain cutting boards and is highly decorative exposing the grain of the wood. The board can be used on either face and may produce a different look on each face depending on the character of the wood grain. Edge grain cutting boards are very durable and can stand up to a lot of food prep work but are not as durable as end grain boards where a lot of heavy knife work is involved. The standard finish for these boards is mineral oil but if you prefer a salad bowl finish please use the contact info on our contact page to request it when your order is placed. Mineral oil will produce a matte sheen while salad bowl finish produces a high gloss sheen. If the standard mineral oil finish is ordered your board will come with a small bottle of mineral oil, larger bottles are available for purchase on our site. These cutting boards can be heavy so finger grooves are standard on the boards that I produce. If you prefer not to have finger grooves pleas
