Save Your VW or Audi 1.8T Engine! Is your 1999 - 2006 1.8T engine block broken? Has the rear upper ear broken off of the engine block? This bracket makes this part of the engine mounting system stronger than stock. This kit will save you a lot of time and an engine! Believe it or not, many cars have been totaled and many engines have been exchanged for new ones simply because this mounting ear had broken off. Installation: The repair bracket can be easily installed with the engine in place. On all 1.8T engines, the  intercooler hose bracket will require modification shown in the last picture on the left of the page and in the YouTube video below as well. Furthermore, we highly recommend that you first make sure that the 7mm and 8mm threads for the mounting holes in the engine block are clean before mounting this fix due to the likelihood of rust being present in these threads.
