MEDIUM DOG COLLAR OF OAXACA. 0029
HANDMADE LEATHER DOG COLLAR WITH COTTON These beautiful dog collars are from Santo Tomas Jalieza that is a population of the state of Oaxaca whose distinctive feature is the talent of both, men and women in textiles. His people preserve the tradition of the use of the waist loom, a prehispanic system for weaving, which consists of a leather strap and rope that is placed on the lower back and waist of the craftsman. With the help of this they elaborate their fabrics made with cotton thread and with natural dyes such as indigo, huizache, pomegranate, aloe and melissa plant that give life to the pieces that are meticulously woven and that gradually shape colourful symbols, friezes, dancers, deer, cacaloxúchitl flowers, pineapple flower, owls, dogs and an infinite number of other forms, many of which have meanings that date back to pre-Hispanic times. A portion of the proceeds from every dog collar sold is donated to non-profits in Texas. Place of manufacture: Santo Tomas Jalieza, Oaxaca,
