Crystal Hops Crystal Hop Profile Released by the USDA in 1993, Crystal is a triploid variety and a daughter of Hallertau Mittelfrüh. While it carries some genetic contributions from Cascade and Brewer's Gold, Crystal is prized for her noble German character. Light floral, cedar and soothing spice simmer with a balanced bitterness in the flavor and aroma profile. In good company among German-derived, American lager hops, Crystal is a half-sister to Mt.
