Yakoda QB Butano (3-Pack)
Tied in the tradition of perdigon-style nymphs often associated with Euro nymphing, the Butano is especially effective on freestone rivers and smaller creeks. Due to its streamlined shape and tungsten bead, this fly sinks extremely fast, putting it in the strike zone quicker than other nymphs that are less hydrodynamic. Although trout of all types have succumbed to this fly, we’ve found that brown trout are especially attracted to it. The quill body and bead can look like a caddis larva poking its head out of its casing, while the tapered, UV-coated silhouette and micro tail fibers give it mayfly-like qualities. An orange hotspot adds a flash of color that can catch a trout’s attention in faster moving or off-color water. Our favorite ways to fish it: As the bottom fly when nymphing—the tungsten bead and tapered body help get your whole rig down faster. As the bottom fly in a dry-dropper setup when we know there are browns around. Type of Water: Rivers, Creeks Imitates: Caddis
