Auxanometer (carefully sound out! 5 syllables) is custom spun 100% bamboo yarn -100% bamboo, 4 ply, fingering weight, 400 yards/skein -hand-dyed in Longmont, Colorado by fiber artist Jennifer Miller *two different kinds of bamboo fiber spun together provide great depth of color. perfectly spun, strong, not at all splitty best worked with a wooden or bamboo needle loved by weavers for both warp & weft spun for Theodora’s in Lewisville, Texas Theodora was a 7th century empress of Byzantium. She was an artist, political leader, & influence on the early Christian church.Theodora’s logo is an existing mosaic portrait still seen in Ravenna, Italy. Auxanometer is a device for measuring daily plant growth! I chose this name for the bamboo yarn because bamboo is sustainable, grows quickly, & is pesticide free!
