Desert Sun is a handwoven fiber wall hanging inspired by the warm glow of sunrise over desert landscapes, where layered arcs and flowing fringe capture the quiet rhythm of light, heat, and open skies. Cotton, wood dowel 31 x 27 in, measured from dowel to end of fringe 2019 –Present The piece is inspired by the powerful simplicity of desert environments where light shapes the contours of sand and earth. Desert Sun was created from my fascination with how nature uses repetition and simplicity to create powerful beauty. The curved, layered shape reflects the rising sun, while the long fringe mimics the soft movement of wind across sand dunes.
