Walnut comfort bird

There's a long standing tradition in wood carving of making and giving 'comfort birds' to the sick, elderly, those who have experienced disaster or trauma or just as an act of kindness.  Comfort birds are intentionally smooth and made to fit into the palm of a hand, so recipients can rub it as they seek calm and comfort in their time of need. Each comfort bird is hand carved from walnut and sealed with coconut oil.
