Vintage original seascape painting. Oil on canvas applied to board painting depicting a nautical swell in a stormy sea. The main tone of this piece is dark and tempestous echoing the illegible squall of Turners "Snowstorm: steamboat off a harbours mouth" which explores the effects of an elemental vortex. The predominantly blues and greens of the sky and ocean merging is intermittently dispersed by the white spray which somewhat defines the horizon faintly whilst intimating a calmer blue sky in the distance. A faint whisp of yellow hovers to the centre right directly above an indistinct red object which again may be in homage to Turners "Helvoetsluys".
