Affinitás Kékfrankos 2018 (750ml)

Consider this friendly but funky red to be part of our ongoing Wine of the Month "experimental series". We certainly don’t expect to sell scores of cases of this obscure variety (Kefrankos aka Blaufrankisch in neighboring Austria) from a little-known location (Sopron, Hungary whose mountains are part of the Alps). Nonetheless, we want you to try Affinitas for its medium-bodied textural flow, high-strung dried blue fruits and savory, earthy finish are quite compelling. The fact that the grapes are grown with respect for organic/bio-dynamic farming philosophies, the fermentation is spontaneous and natural and the bottling done sans filtration (rendering the wine vegan-friendly) are all bonuses to be contemplated wine enjoying a glass!
