The origin of the castle dates back to the fifteenth centuryeand to the lords of Fombrauge. This vast estate, one of the most imposing in Saint-Émilion (58 hectares), has been owned since 1999 by Bernard Magrez, a key player in the Bordeaux vineyards. The 2012 classification brought it into the circle of Grands Crus Classés.
