Esprit de Chevalier is a charming red wine with many of the same qualities as the grand vin and the added advantage that can be enjoyed earlier. Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot The Barrel Sample for this wine is under 14% ABV.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 point Aromas of smoky blackberries, cherries, loamy soil and smoke preface the 2019 L'Esprit de Chevalier, a medium to full-bodied, ample and charming wine that's rich but elegant, with its fleshy core of fruit framed by velvety tannins and succulent acids. Best after 2021.   Wine Spectator 91 point Presents a mix of bramble, mulling spice and savory notes, with steeped plum and red currant fruit flavors and a tarry tug on the finish.
